The ClearWater school sounds alot like heaven. When a child is given the freedom to learn on their own, without any restrictions on how they spend their time, I believe alot of children could really learn some things that would be almost impossible to learn in a conventional school. This style of education solves the problems that arrise when all students are forced to learn all of the same subjects, such as someone who is really brilliant with math, falling behind in school simply because they can't handle their basic english class. At the same time in today's society, there would be the kids that never did a single assignment, or made any effort to learn something.

i agree partially i think students need to be given the freedom and tools to learn on their own about what ever they want but clearwater school seemed a little too isolated to me and i got the impression there wasn't a lot of chance to learn from others. I think a preschool and early elementary like clearwater would make more since because little kids love to explore and ask so many questions. i don't know how it is for everyone but i learned to read with my mom not from a teacher. so i think its appropriate for youngsters. i think kids in upper grades and defiantly high school still need freedom to learn what they want but with a push.
